TERMINATION CONFIGURATION

Notes: When using differential SCSI, external termination must be used and termination on the controller and daughterboard must be disabled. I.e., all termination jumpers (JP1/1-JP1/5) should be opened. (See User Configurable Settings.)

If Narrow SCSI (8-bit) is connected to any channel, the controller must be at one end of the bus with termination enabled (J5) on that channel.

If dual mode system, terminate SCSI bus externally.

MISCELLANEOUS TECHNICAL NOTES

The DAC960SX controller (which can reside within a DAC9060SXI enclosure) interfaces between the host system and a disk array. The controller is installed with one of several distribution boards: DBX960X-3-UDR, DBX960S-6-FWR and DBX960S-6-UDR. A DBI960SX daughterboard can be installed with the latter two, providing a 3 channel upgrade. A battery backup unit can be installed with all.

TERMINATION CONFIGURATION

Notes: All termination jumpers (JP1/1-JP1/5) should remain closed on the daughterboard unless operating in dual host mode or using a differential SCSI distribution board.

When using differential SCSI, external termination must be used and termination on the controller and daughterboard must be disabled. All termination jumpers (JP1/1-JP1/5 should be opened.)

If dual host mode is not used, all JP1 termination jumpers should be closed.

MISCELLANEOUS TECHNICAL NOTES

The DBI960SX supports three SCSI channels. Two are drive channels and the third can be configured as either a second host channel or a third drive channel.
